How to make Floating Wall Shelves

Introduction:

Everybody wants to make their home beautiful with some showpieces that can be styled and showcased only on appropriate wall shelves. Floating shelves are a beautiful solution for small homes. You can use them to create the perfect space to display your collections. If you are living in an apartment, you do not want to drill every time to fix a wall-mounted rack. but we cannot place the shelves anywhere in our house. The should be a proper place that will decorate the home and corners are very important in this DIY wall-mounted rack. Here I am going to share a beautiful DIY idea of making a corner wall shelf at a very low cost.

Items required:

You need to have the below item to make this corner wall shelf.

corrugated box of any size. I used the packing box of my water purifier. it depends on the size of the rack you want to make. but the corrugated box should be thick enough to withstand the weight of the showpieces we are going to keep on it.
Multipurpose Small Rectangular/Round Stainless Steel Adhesive Hooks. You can find it easily in Amazon / Flipkart with different load carrying capacities like 1 kg, 2 kg.Wall mounting hooks
Black/White/Red or different color ( as per your choice which matches with your wall color) to paint the corrugated sheet.

Scale or measuring tape.
Glue or fevi quick/ double-sided glue tape
Cutter or scissor to cut the corrugated sheet as per your requirement

Step by Step procedure:

First of all, you need to select a corner to mount the shelf.
Then you need to design the shelf whether you will go for a round-shaped or rectangular shaped rack. As per the design of my room, I decided to go for a round shaped rack.
Now you need to decide the design of the rack. For example the rack can be symmetric or asymmetric, number of shelves, the size of each shelf whether it is in ascending or descending order or same size. I have designed The rack in ascending order from top to bottom.
After finalizing the design take perfect measurement of each Arm with measuring tape and map it on the corrugated sheet. Remember if you are making a symmetric back then the length of each arm should be the same and the angle between the two arms should be 90 degrees.
connect both the arms with an Arc and market on the corrugated sheet.
Cut the corrugated sheets as per the marking. Now the seats are ready to be painted.
select the color as per your choice that suits your room best. I selected black color to paint the corrugated sheet. you can use spray paint or brush paint to color the shelves. After painting it is very important to make it dry properly. to do so hang each and every corrugated sheet for at least 5 to 6 hours.
Now it's time to mark the specific place on the corner of the wall with a pencil. After marking is done, stick the multipurpose Small Rectangular/round Stainless Steel adhesive hooks on the marked places on the corner wall. please remember to put the hooks in such a way that the corrugated sheet remains horizontal. Before sticking the hooks on the wall, straighten the hooks so that the corrugated sheets can be kept on them.
Repeat the same activity for the other shelves also. Keep a certain gap in between two shelves so that you can put your selected showpieces on the shelf properly.
After sticking all the hooks on the wall, put the Corrugated shelves on the hooks. you may use double-sided tape or glue/fevi stick and part of them so that the corrugated sheet can be fixed permanently on the hooks. it gives more strength to the overall shelf.
The racks are now ready to use. keep your beautiful showpieces on the wall mounted racks and decorate your house beautifully.
